Beauty for Ashes  is an outreach ministry that shows the love of God to hurting women by crocheting prayer shawls that  bring healing, hope, comfort and peace.

It is my desire to touch the lives of as many women as I possibly  can with these prayer shawls that are crochet with prayer in every stitch.

Not only is it my desire to give of myself through the ministry of the prayer shawl, I hope that other women are inspired to start a prayer shawl ministry.  I believe that there are many women that able to crochet.  There is no better way to share the love of God than by giving something that has been crocheted through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

What is a Prayer Shawl? A prayer shawl is shawl that is crocheted while praying for the recipient.  If I know who the recipient of the prayer shawl will be, I pray for them and their circumstances while I am crocheting the shawl.  Although this may differ from the meaning of the original prayer shawls in Jewish history, this is the meaning behind the reason I create my prayer shawls as I was inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Who are the Prayer Shawls made for? This ministry was started to crochet prayer shawls for women who are in need of physical, emotional and spiritual healing.  Please be aware that due to the overwhelming response to this ministry, there is at least a 45 day wait to receive a prayer shawl.

How much does a Prayer Shawl cost? I do not charge for my prayer shawls.  This is my way of showing God’s love to hurting women.  This is made possible by the donations that I receive through the donate button in the side bar, sponsored ads.

What’s New!

I have been overwhelmed with the amount requests for prayer shawls for women that have breast cancer.  It just seems everywhere I turn, I hear of someone that has been recently diagnosed.  It breaks my heart and I am praying for healing for all women that are touched by this affliction.

In light of this, I have decided to add a catagory to this site that will focus on Women’s Health and Wellness issues.  This catagory will not only focus on helpful information and resources about breast cancer, but it will also focus on other areas of Women’s Health and Wellness such as fitness, nutrition, emotional, etc.
