When I started the Beauty for Ashes Prayer Shawl Ministry my intent was to crochet for women who were mainly in need of emotional and spiritual healing. Later I also decided to expand it to women who were also in need of physical heeling.

I have to tell you that 99% of the prayer shawls I have crocheted were for women who have breast cancer.  It seemed that every request I received was for someone that was battling this deadly disease.
