A couple months ago, a good friend of mine told me that her mother-in-law had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. She seemed to have peace and went on to tell me that her mother-in-law had lived a full life and decided that she did not want to under go chemotherapy.
My heart went out to her and at the same time there was joy in my heart hearing of her trust in Jesus Christ as her savior to keep her in physical and spiritual comfort as she moves into the end of her journey here on earth.
Although, it has been a while since I have updated this site with any new prayer shawls, my dedication to providing hurting women prayer shawls that I have personally crochet still remains strong. I have actually completed two prayer shawls since the last time I posted and have almost completed another one which I hope to present later this week.

V Stitch Prayer Shawls are Great for Conveying a Message of Victory
I just completed a V Stitch Prayer Shawl for a neighbor and also a dear friend. Though I we don’t see each other often, I think of her from time to time and pray God’s blessings in her life.
Lately I have noticed that there have been several inquiries of what the best prayer shawl pattern is for crocheting and knitting prayer shawls.
Since I am not a knitter, I can’t give any advice on the best knitting patterns.
Today I am starting a new prayer shawl for a lady that I have known for a very long time. She is a beautiful young lady with a husband and two young children.
She has been battling breast cancer and its after effects for many years and will soon be undergoing reconstructive breast surgery.
Isaiah 40:9-11
9 You who bring good tidings to Zion,
go up on a high mountain.
You who bring good tidings to Jerusalem, [c]
lift up your voice with a shout,
lift it up, do not be afraid;
say to the towns of Judah,
“Here is your God!”
10 See, the Sovereign LORD comes with power,
and his arm rules for him.
See, his reward is with him,
and his recompense accompanies him.
Psalm 25:4-5
4 Show me your ways, O LORD,
teach me your paths;
5 guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.
2 Corinthians 1:3-11
3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 5For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. 6If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.
8We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life. 9Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. 10He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, 11as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.
It appears that everyday I hear about devastating news that concerns complete strangers and people that I know. Most recently I learned that a the lady that I crocheted a prayer blanket for sometime last year is in her last days of her battle with breast cancer here on earth, unless the Lord performs a miracle. Her sister is a good friend of mine. This news was very disappointed, but yet I know God is in control of all situations and circumstances.
Some people tend to live from one crisis to the next. If that person is you, I want you to know that God has not forgotten you. It is very easy to believe that God has forsaken us or somehow lost track of us when it in appears that trouble is on every side. I know you are not the first to feel this way and God knew you would feel this way. His words of comfort or here for you today just as they were with the children of Israel. Read More
I recently had surgery for an ongoing illness that has plagued me for years and it finally progressed to the point where I needed surgery.
I had surgery on May 10th and am now home recovering and will return to work on June 15th. For those of you that knew I was going through, I want to thank you for your prayers. They have made all the difference.
