When I shop for yarn, It’s not unusual for me to stand for an hour just looking at one selection of yarn color or fiber for minutes an even hours. I love touching the yarn and placing it next to my skin. I love thinking about what the person who receives it will feel.
I pray and ask God if it is the right fiber and the right color. Yes, I take choosing the color and fiber just as seriously as choosing the pattern to use. Sometimes I already know who the recipient will be and sometimes I don’t.

I recently completed a prayer shawl for a very special lady. This prayer shawl was special for me to make and was a total surprise to her.
She is going through a major storm in her life, emotionally and spiritually. I knew she was a strong woman of God but I never knew the depth of her strength until I have witness her these last months going through something, she probably never imagined herself experiencing.

A couple months ago, a good friend of mine told me that her mother-in-law had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. She seemed to have peace and went on to tell me that her mother-in-law had lived a full life and decided that she did not want to under go chemotherapy.
My heart went out to her and at the same time there was joy in my heart hearing of her trust in Jesus Christ as her savior to keep her in physical and spiritual comfort as she moves into the end of her journey here on earth.

On Yesterday, I completed a prayer shawl for a lady that recently underwent hip surgery. I hope that this prayer shawl will be a comfort to her as she continues her recovery.
She told me that she still has a little ways to go but she was able to move around with the help of a walker and she is grateful for that.

I just completed a prayer shawl in candy apple red for a dear lady who lost a close friend to cancer.
Words cannot explain the pain for the lost of a loved one. One thing I believe she takes great comfort in, is knowing that her friend died knowing Jesus as her personal savior.

Recently I was privileged to crochet a prayer shawl for the mother of one of my coworkers who lost her sister. I have never met this lady personally. However, my heart and prayers did go out to her for her sorry.
I have been blessed and fortunate to have not lost a close loved one as of yet. Sometimes I feel at a lost when I can not empathize with those who have lost someone close to them

I am so thrilled and joyful to have this prayer blanket completed. This is special because this lady is enduring a lot at such a young age having been diagnosed with a very aggressive for of breast cancer called inflammatory breast cancer.
I chose to do this blanket instead of a shawl by the leading of the Holy Spirit. About a week ago, I found out that she will be hospitalized for surgery soon. I knew then that she would need this blanket for her hospital bed. God always knows best and when we follow his leading we can never go wrong.

This week I gave my first prayer shawl to a lady that has breast cancer. I actually presented to her husband and he proudly delivered it to her. The look on his face was priceless as was the joy that feeled my heart to use the gift that God gave me to be a blessing to others.
Sometimes the things we think as small and insignificant are the very things that God wants us to use so that He can get the glory. I had been crocheting off and on for years but never thought of this as a ministry.
