Comfort for Mourning

18 August 2009 No Comment

prayer shawl ministryRecently I was privileged to crochet a prayer shawl for the mother of one of my coworkers who lost her sister.  I have never met this lady personally.  However, my heart and prayers did go out to her for her sorry.

I have been blessed and fortunate to have not lost a close loved one as of yet.  Sometimes I feel at a lost when I can not empathize with those who have lost someone close to them

To me, this is a gift of God to be a blessing to people in this way when I don’t have the words to express my sympathy and the sorry I feel in my own heart for their loss.

I do know that one day my time will come to feel this unspeakable pain of the death of a loved one.  The one thing I know is that regardless of my own experience, I can always remind myself and others that God knows our sorrows and he is able to heal our hearts when we grieve.

If you are reading this and you have suffered the loss of a loved one, please know that God is always in control even when we don’t understand.  We must always trust in him.
