Recently I was privileged to crochet a prayer shawl for the mother of one of my coworkers who lost her sister.  I have never met this lady personally.  However, my heart and prayers did go out to her for her sorry.

I have been blessed and fortunate to have not lost a close loved one as of yet.  Sometimes I feel at a lost when I can not empathize with those who have lost someone close to them

To me, this is a gift of God to be a blessing to people in this way when I don’t have the words to express my sympathy and the sorry I feel in my own heart for their loss.

I do know that one day my time will come to feel this unspeakable pain of the death of a loved one.  The one thing I know is that regardless of my own experience, I can always remind myself and others that God knows our sorrows and he is able to heal our hearts when we grieve.
