New Prayer Shawl – Experiencing the Heart of Jesus in 2010
I started working on a new prayer shawl tonight. I have dedicated this prayer shawl for physical healing as well as peace. Although I have several people on my waiting list and I normally make them in order of the names being placed on the list plus factoring in the severity of their condition, I am a little unsure of who this one will go to.
I am currently seeking God for his complete and perfect will as to who this next prayer shawl will be for. My prayer and the major theme for all the prayer shawls I will create in 2010 will be “Experiencing the Heart of Jesus.”
My inspiration for this year’s theme came from Max Lucado’s Devotional Bible. As I endeavor this year to develop a closer walk with Jesus, it is also my prayer for everyone woman I crochet a prayer shawl for, to experience the heart of Jesus in every situation and circumstance they find themselves in.
I believe that true healing (whether physical or emotional) only comes when we experience the heart of our Father through His son Jesus.
Every source of inspiration and strength that Jesus drew on all the way to the cross in available in the Word of God.
Remember that, when your heart is broken, or your body is disease, it is written….

Thank you Jenny. The Lord has led me to who should receive it. I have several ladies at the top of my list with various illness and I wanted to make sure I connect with the one I knew would need it most at the time.
This is such a great site!!! I love reading something feeling peaceful when I leave. I love the theme; sometimes when life becomes overwhelming, we try & fix things ourselves. I see Jesus in ‘all that is Dee’. You can rest assured, Katie, for Dee will comfort,encourage and finally help heal you. Dee Foster reminds me of the women who knelt at Jesus’s feet as he preached, paying rapt attention and who later fed and housed him. Dee reminds me of the women who stayed with dear Jesus during his arrest and trial–those who stayed with him during his Crucifixion, ‘earthly’ death and burial.
And to whom did our Lord appear first after his Resurrection? Why to a the women, of course…to a ’sassy’ and beautiful woman just like Dee. I can imagine Dee wrapping our Lord up in one of her healing shawls and wiping his brow. And I just know she’s doing the exact thing now by comforting those who are suffering, those the ‘least of these’, all without a single thought for herself.
It’s not a coincidence, Katie.
