Prayer Blanket for Breast Cancer Completed

11 July 2009 2 Comments

img00200I am so thrilled and joyful to have this prayer blanket completed. This is special because this lady is enduring a lot at such a young age having been diagnosed with a very aggressive for of breast cancer called inflammatory breast cancer.

I chose to do this blanket instead of a shawl by the leading of the Holy Spirit. About a week ago, I found out that she will be hospitalized for surgery soon. I knew then that she would need this blanket for her hospital bed. God always knows best and when we follow his leading we can never go wrong.

I did this blanket in white, rose and accented with pink butterflies. The pink is the recognized color for breast cancer survivors and I not only see her as a survivor but she is victorious through our Lord Jesus Christ. By His stripes she is healed.

With the butterflies, I thought about how a butterfly is matured, it is in a cocoon for a period of time. I see her in a cocoon of cancer but once she is healed and recovered God will restore her health and all the outward appearance that the disease has taken, such as her hair and her breast. I know will be beautiful and free, just like a butterfly.

This prayer blanket was made for with prayer for her complete healing, both physical, spiritual and emotional.

What a wonderful creation for someone undergoing both physical and mental hard times with Inflammatory Breast Cancer. And what you have made is beautiful.

Please share our website with your friend, and hopefully we can help her also. There is a large number of women on the internet who connect to talk and share and learn about IBC. So I thought I would share this so you could share also.

Pattie thank so much. It means alot. I will be adding your link as a resource link. I had my own scare with this about 10 years ago. I did some research and when i went to my doctor about it. He told me there was no such thing as inflammatory breast cancer. However, when i went back for a follow up he had to apologize. I was horrified that he as a medical profession had no idea bout this deadly disease.

I am grateful for your website and will like to it so that women can educate themselves. I will also share this link with my friend’s sister who has already had both breast removed.
