Pressing Towards the Mark …
I started working on my most recent prayer shawl a couple months ago. Normally it only takes me a week at the most to complete a prayer shawl once I start on it. However, I had some life events that got me a little off track and off focused.
I’m sure that you know that “life has a way of happening” when we least expect it. The first of many several unfortunate events began when my husband and sons were involved in a car accident that totaled our vehicle. Miraculously, they all walked away without even a scratch. I praise God everyday for sparing their lives when it could have been a much worse situation.
Soon after my husband and I both lost our fathers within weeks of each other. We have continued to go through many trials.
Inspite of what we have gone through and are going through, I yet know that God has called me to do a work for him and bring hope and healing to so many women who are hurting.
It’s so easy to focus only on yourself when you are going through situations in life. But that is not what God wants us to do. He wants us to be concerned about others as well and not become so caught up in our own affairs that we forget that He has called us and that He is able to solve any problem or situation if we cast our burdens on him.
Through the whirlwind of my trials, I got lost in myself for a moment. But a dear lady and a sweet sister in Christ sent from God himself encouraged me to keep moving and to continue to do the Will of God inspite of everything that was going on around me.
It was just earlier this year that God gave me a renewal and fresh vision for the ministry He called me to. I thank and praise God for the many prayers I received and continue to receive for me and my family as we continue to press towards the mark of the high calling in Jesus Christ.
I know that each and every prayer shawl I create will be like the hand of God touching every woman that it comes in contact with, letting her know that God is alive and He is real and that He loves her with an everlasting love.
I will continue to do press towards the mark… For it is He that works in me, both to will and to do of His good pleasure.
